Hesco Testing Protocol
NIJ Certification of hard armor needs submission of 10” x 12” test plates. These plates must show they can defeat specific rounds in a valid NIJ shot pattern after a strict conditioning process to mimic aging and wear. Other size torso plates of the same construction can be included in the Certification without more NIJ testing.
Hesco goes further by showing the minimum number of shots each size plate can handle under similar NIJ testing and listing more threats not covered by NIJ Certification. Check the Threat Performance Matrix for details.
