The 200 Series plates are great for situations where concealment is important. They offer low visibility and special threat protection. There are single and multi - curve designs in shooter, full, and SAPI cuts depending on the model. These plates are specialized ballistic and stab - resistant stand - alone inserts for low - visibility needs.

Hesco Testing Protocol

NIJ Certification of hard armor needs 10” x 12” test plates. They must defeat specific rounds under a valid NIJ shot pattern after a strict conditioning process to mimic aging and wear. Other same - construction torso plates can be included in the Certification without more NIJ testing. Hesco sets a higher standard by showing the minimum shots each size plate can defeat under similar NIJ methods and listing extra threats not in the NIJ process. First, make sure to choose the right size for your needs - there's a large (L210 - SH - SC - L) and a small (L210 - SH - SC - S) option. Put the plate in your armor carrier. When you're using it, remember that it's made to order, so you'll have to wait 8 - 12 weeks for it. As for maintenance, since it has a waterproof, polyurethane - coated, Cordura nylon wrap, you can wipe it clean with a damp cloth if it gets dirty. Just don't use any harsh chemicals as they might damage the coating. Check the plate regularly for any signs of damage. If you notice any cracks or significant wear, stop using it immediately. And keep in mind the manufacturing tolerances. The thickness can vary by ± 1/8 in (± 3 mm), width and length by +0.00 to - 0.25 in (+0.00 to - 6 mm), and weight by ± 5%.
