Tested to NIJ Standard - 0101.06, this plate meets or exceeds ballistic resistance requirements and is also validated against special threats. The HESCO 600 SERIES is crafted for maximum comfort and easy mobility. These lightweight yet high - performance plates are perfect for tactical teams and fast - paced operations.

Just like all HESCO BALLISTIC INSERTS, these plates are produced to the highest quality standards and tested beyond NIJ requirements, up to a HESCO STANDARD.

Manufacturing Tolerances:

Actual nominal sizes are 0.2 in smaller than listed. All weights are ± 5%. Thickness dimensions are ± 1/8 in ( ± 3 mm). Width and length dimensions are ± 0.13 in (± 3 mm).

Hesco Testing Protocol

NIJ Certification of hard armor needs 10” x 12” test plates to show they can defeat specific rounds in a valid NIJ shot pattern after strict conditioning. Level III needs six M80 rounds per plate. Level IV needs one AP M2 per plate. NIJ allows other identically - constructed torso plates to be included in the Certification without further testing.

Hesco sets a higher bar by publishing the minimum shots each size plate can handle under NIJ - like testing and listing extra threats not covered by NIJ Certification. Check the Threat Performance Matrix for the minimum number of shots.

Using this Hesco 600 Series ballistic plate is straightforward. First, make sure you've selected the right size for your torso from the available options (XL, L, M, S). Put the plate into your ballistic vest or carrier following the manufacturer's instructions. When in use, be aware of the plate's capabilities against different threats as shown in the Threat Performance Matrix. For maintenance, keep the plate in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or rough handling. Periodically check for any signs of damage like cracks or wear. If you notice any issues, it's best to replace the plate. Also, remember that this product is made to order, so there's an 8 - 12 week lead time.
