Using the Action Targets PT Scout Target Base Shield is straightforward. First, attach the target plates to the PT Scout stand and 2x4. Make sure it's securely mounted before starting to shoot. When shooting, stand at least 10 yards away as it's recommended for pistol calibers from this distance. The smooth surface and special design will direct the projectiles safely down and away from you. If you need to change the target head, you can do it easily without any tools. Just keep an eye on the nuts attaching the bracket to the target head. If they come loose, you can use the 3/8' wrench cut - out on the left and right foot of the PT Scout stand to tighten them. For maintenance, the zinc - plated bracket helps prevent corrosion and rust. But it's a good idea to clean the target plate regularly. You can use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe it down. Also, store it in a dry place when not in use to keep it in top condition.
