Product Description
The PT Scout Rifle-Rated Target Plates are crafted with durability and sound in mind. Each plate is a 3/8-inch thick heavy-duty AR550 steel plate. We use grade 8 carriage bolts that are tough enough to withstand bullets and last longer. If heavy use wears down the plate, it's reversible - just use the 3/4-inch wrench built into the foot of the PT Scout stand. When the target is mounted on the PT Scout stand and 2x4, projectiles are safely directed away from shooters. The large footprint and balanced center of gravity keep the target upright. For larger calibers or uneven terrain, there are staking locations on the stand feet. Range Masters and Match Directors can trust that they're using the safest steel targets. Developed with top shooters, this system is perfect for competitive settings and has been proven by pros like Max Michel, Rob Leatham, and Law Enforcement training agencies. Action Target buys more AR550 steel than anyone as we build bullet - stopping ranges worldwide. Our steel is plasma - cut on a water table to reduce heat - affected zones. The through bolts and spring steel bracket enhance the sound, making it easy for shooters and scorekeepers to recognize hits from afar. Changing target heads is a breeze, no tools needed on the range. We offer various shapes and sizes for every competition and shooter, including those for PRS, 3 - Gun, IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, SASP, Steel Challenge and more. Using the PT Scout Target is easy. First, mount the target on the PT Scout stand and a 2x4. This setup will safely direct projectiles away from you. The large footprint and balanced center of gravity help keep the target upright. If you're using larger calibers or on uneven terrain, use the staking locations on the stand feet to secure it. When the target plate gets worn out from extensive use, you can reverse it using the 3/4 - inch wrench built into the stand foot. Changing target heads doesn't require any tools on the range. Just make sure to use appropriate ammunition. This target is recommended for rifle calibers up to.308 from 100 yards and beyond, with a max recommended muzzle velocity of 3000 fps at 100 yards. Don't use steel core, steel jacket or other AP ammunition. To keep the target in good condition, the zinc - plated bracket helps prevent corrosion and rust. Check the grade 8 bolts regularly to ensure they're in good shape. If you notice any significant wear on the target plate, it might be time to reverse it or consider a replacement.
