Hesco Testing Protocol
NIJ Certification for hard armor needs 10” x 12” test plates to show they can defeat specific rounds according to a valid NIJ shot pattern after a tough conditioning test. Level III needs six M80 rounds per plate, and Level IV needs one AP M2 per plate. Other same - construction torso plates of different sizes can be included in the Certification without extra NIJ testing. Hesco sets a higher standard by showing the minimum shots each size plate can handle and listing more threats not covered by NIJ Certification.

How to use: Wear these Hesco 100 Series side plates alongside your HESCO torso plates. They're designed to protect the areas under your arms. Just make sure they're properly attached to your gear for the best protection.
Things to note: These plates have manufacturing tolerances. The thickness can vary by ± 1/8 in (± 3 mm), width and length dimensions can be +0.00 to -0.25 in (+0.00 to -6 mm), and all weights are ± 5%. Also, remember that they're sold individually.
Maintenance: Since they have a water - repellant polyurethane - coated Cordura® fabric finish, you can wipe them clean with a damp cloth if they get dirty. Store them in a dry place to keep them in good condition.
